The Registered Apprenticeship Academy

About

The Office of Apprenticeship (OA) is proud to announce the creation of the Registered Apprenticeship Academy, an online training center for everyone associated with Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs: participants, employer sponsors, DOL-funded partners and intermediaries, State Apprenticeship Agencies, and OA staff. The RA Academy offers a wide range of courses, videos, and resources to help each of these stakeholders succeed in their respective roles. Some highlights:

  • Participants can learn what to expect from an apprenticeship program – something YARG youth panels have often requested – and how to get the most out of their on-the-job training.
  • Employer sponsors will find strategies for implementing an RA program and for recruiting and selecting apprentices as well as managing and supporting them.
  • DOL-funded partners can access regulations and guidelines, key program components, funding opportunities, and outreach tools.
  • State Apprenticeship Agencies will find a module on program evaluation, instructions for conducting demographic data analysis, and other guidance for administering programs on the state level.
  • OA staff can use the platform as a refresher course and as a reference library for any number of day-to-day questions.

Also available here are details on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) rights and regulations, the use of the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS), veterans’ benefits in RA programs, and much more.

Whether you are a new YARG program staffer or an experienced practitioner, this one-stop apprenticeship learning hub puts everything you need to know about RA at your fingertips. Bookmark the RA Academy home page!
